Our team is fully trained to help in any emergency situation and will do so with compassion and gentleness.
We classify a dental emergency as pain in the mouth. If you are in doubt, call our team to be safe. An emergency also consists of any of the following:
Infections
Facial swelling
Gum swelling
Pain in the jaw or gums
Broken/ knocked-out teeth
Uncontrollable bleeding
If you are experiencing any of these, do not hesitate to contact Chiu Dental. We will see you the same day or the next business day if we are closed.
Call Us for Triage
During working hours, call us at (519) 884-0887 if you are experiencing a dental emergency. If it is after hours, call 1-888-757-9361, and an on-call dentist will assess your situation over the phone. They will keep you as comfortable as possible until we can see you the next morning when our office is open.
If the on-call dentist deems it necessary, they may recommend you go to the hospital for immediate attention.

Wed-Thurs: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Fri: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

If you experience a dental emergency outside of office hours, we will make sure to see you as soon as we can the next working day. Seeing a dentist as quickly as possible will reduce the chance of complications later and ensure the best recovery. We always try to be available to see patients in a dental crisis while our office is open, and we have a 24-hour dental emergency line for when we aren’t. Whether you are a current patient at Chiu Dental or not, we will attend to your dental emergency.
How the appointment works will depend on what the emergency is and the extent of damage. If you have a broken tooth, an infection, or are experiencing pain, we will make it a priority to see you the same day. Our office is dedicated to attending to and repairing any dental damage or decay you are experiencing to the fullest extent so that you can return to having a bright smile.
Follow Up for Best Results
Chiu Dental cares for our patients from initial consultation to full recovery after a dental emergency. We will book followup appointments to make sure things are healing properly and that there are no remaining immediate concerns. If you are prescribed medications, activities, or diets, please ensure that you follow these as closely as you can for the best recovery.
